Tottenham are set for showdown talks with Torino defender Gleison Bremer, but the Brazilian centre-back is still angling for a move within Italy, with Inter Milan the current frontrunners.

However, they are currently unable to match the demands of the Turin side, with Italian outlet tuttosport reporting that 'Bremer is not moving for less than 35 million euros', but Inter are only willing to 'pay a sum that varies between 25 and 30 million'.

Tottenham, meanwhile, can pay that fee immediately, having been willing to shell out more than that on Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni before the Italian reaffirmed his aim to stay at San Siro this summer.

According to reports in England, they could face competition from across London, with Chelsea also sniffing around the Brazilian amid their need for defensive reinforcements this summer.

Spurs eyeing Romero repeat?

Should the Lilywhites snag Bremer, they would once again be raiding Serie A for the best defender in the division over the last season. Last season, it was Christian Romero that picked up the award, before making the switch from Atalanta to Tottenham.

And he has been an unmitigated success, already a key cornerstone of Antonio Conte's side, and having showed himself well worth the £43m price tag that the north London outfit shelled out for him.

Bremer has had an equally impressive campaign, with the 25-year-old making 33 appearances for the Turin side this season and helping them to a tenth-placed finish in the process.
