Luton Town vs Middlesbrough match preview

Two sides potentially in line to go head-to-head in the promotion playoffs are set to lock horns in a Championship clash at Kenilworth Road this Monday, April 24th.

The matchup in question will see Luton Town act as hosts, in a meeting with Middlesbrough.

Beginning with the former, Luton remain in the thick of a hugely impressive unbeaten streak.

Dating all the way back to late January, Rob Edwards’ troops have slipped to just a solitary defeat in 17, emerging from each of their last 11 with at least a share of the spoils.

Fresh off a pair of successive victories, though, the Hatters were brought somewhat back down to earth last time out.

This came as a trip to the Madejski Stadium saw Luton forced to settle for a point, despite relegation-battling hosts Reading seeing out the majority of the 2nd-half with just ten men.

And Boro, for their part, could well fancy their chances of precisely that.

This comes with Michael Carrick’s men no doubt brimming with confidence, after finding their stride once more over the last couple of weeks.

Fresh off just a point secured from an available nine since the turn of the month, Middlesbrough, two weeks ago, welcomed Norwich City to the Riverside Stadium.

And the Yorkshire outfit went on to run riot, looking back to their best en route to a 5-1 rout.

This, in turn, was followed by a 2nd dominant win on the spin last time out, when Carrick and co. recovered from a goal down to ultimately put Hull City to the sword by three goals to one.

Such developments, all told, make Monday’s Kenilworth Road showdown a tough one to call.

We at 101 are therefore backing two fine sides to ultimately cancel each other out, to share the spoils come the full-time whistle in a competitive affair.
