Premier League club’s on alert as Ryan Gravenberch could be open to new pastures

The Dutch international midfielder has not ruled out a departure from Bayern Munich in the wake of a frustrating 2022-23 campaign at the Allianz Arena

Clubs across the Premier League landscape could be ready to pounce on Dutch international midfielder Ryan Gravenberch in the future after reports suggest the former AFC Ajax academy graduate will look for a new adventure if his situation at Bayern Munich does not improve.

Football insider Fabrizio Romano cited quotes from the 21-year-old Amsterdam-born starlet that elude to a possible future move away from the Bundesliga juggernaut in the midst of continued interest from English clubs despite only arriving at the Allianz Arena last summer.

One of the most highly-touted talents to emerge from Ajax’s vaunted academy set up in recent years, interest in Gravenberch was considerable before he opted to head to Bayern in a deal that saw the Dutch giants receive €20m of pure profit, with the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal both being linked with keeping the player on their radar.

Despite making 33 appearances for Bayern in 2022-23 across all competitions, Gravenberch saw less than 950 minutes of action for the Bundesliga champions, and there remains plenty of uncertainty surrounding how Thomas Tuchel intends to utilize him in the coming year.

Currently with the Dutch U21 side competing at the European Championship and having started for the Oranje against rivals Belgium in a 0-0 draw to open group play, should Gravenberch perform well in Georgia, it remains feasible that he either convinces his current boss to offer him a pathway to increased minutes, or, push for a move away from Säbener Straße should those terms not be received.
