Revealed | The fee that Saudi club’s are prepared to pay for Thomas Partey

The Ghanaian star regressed massively at the tail-end of the 2022-23 Premier League campaign, which has seemingly played a part in his future in north London

Arsenal’s unexpected summer transfer dealings are seemingly set to work both ways in north London after Ghanaian international star Thomas Partey could be on his way out of the Emirates.

The veteran midfielder regressed massively at the tail-end of the 2022-23 Premier League campaign which saw the Gunners ultimately miss out on a chance at securing their first league win in nearly two decades, which has seemingly played a part in his future in north London now far from certain.

As such, there has been interest from Saudi clubs in bringing the 30-year-old former Atlético Madrid man to the Roshn Saudi League as part of the league’s huge summer campaign at prying an endless stream of players from Europe to the Gulf state, as the Kingdom’s Public Investment Fund continues to lead that charge.

An update provided by football insider Fabrizio Romano today details just how much Saudi clubs are willing to part ways with for Partey’s services, with a figure of €40m (in installments) being named.

Partey will not be without plenty of suitors, too, with Romano reporting that a number of clubs in Europe are also keen on a move for the versatile midfielder, with Arsenal now also potentially pressed to secure a replacement.

One such avenue could be Southampton’s Roméo Lavia, whom the Gunners are already reportedly pushing for. Should the pending signing of Kai Havertz see the German utilized in midfield in the vacancy to be left by Granit Xhaka, Mikel Arteta would at least have three in the door after two departed the capital on the back of a hopefully completed move for Declan Rice.
