Red Bulls win again; Galaxy lose‎ at Chivas; De Rosario at the double for DC United

Vancouver Whitecaps 2 – Seattle Sounders 2 (MLS, May 19, 2012) The Seattle Sounders twice came from behind to claim a 2-2 draw at the Vancouver Whitecaps, Eddie Johnson and Freddy Montero cancelling out goals from Alain Rochat and Camilo.

DC United 3 – Toronto FC 1 (MLS, May 19, 2012) Dwayne De Rosario scored after 57 seconds then again two minutes before the break, and when Danny Koevermans pulled one back in the 71st minute, Hamdi Salihi replied two minutes later to settle any nerves.

Montreal Impact 1 – New York Red Bulls 2 (MLS, May 19, 2012) The Red Bulls fell behind to Bernardo Corradi’s 22nd-minute penalty, but levelled with a spot-kick of their own from Kenny Cooper 12 minutes later. Victor Palsson saw red after 58 minutes as he collected a second yellow card, but the Red Bulls made light of their numerical disadvantage by netting the winner through Dane Richards nine minutes later.

New England Revolution 2 – Houston Dynamo 2 (MLS, May 19, 2012) Saer Sene scored twice as the New England Revolution drew 2-2 with the Houston Dynamo, who twice equalised through Will Bruin and Luiz Camargo.

FC Dallas 1 – Philadelphia Union 1 (MLS, May 19, 2012) Gabriel Gomez scored after 56 minutes to rescue a point for the Philadelphia Union with a 1-1 draw at FC Dallas, who had taken a first-half lead through Blas Perez.

Colorado Rapids 2 – Sporting Kansas City 2 (MLS, May 19, 2012) The Rapids looked poised for victory when Teal Bunbury scored twice in the first 14 minutes, but Tyrone Marshall pulled one back after 52 minutes and Kosuke Kimura levelled on the hour mark.

Chivas USA 1 – LA Galaxy 0 (MLS, May 19, 2012) Chivas USA ended a run of six straight defeats against the Los Angeles Galaxy as Jose Correa’s 72nd-minute penalty gave them a 1-0 win over their rivals.

San Jose Earthquakes 1 – Columbus Crew 1 (MLS, May 19, 2012) The Quakes trailed on the stroke of half-time through Justin Meram, but Alan Gordon rescued a point in the last minute.

New York win a 3-2 thriller at Philadelphia

Philadelphia Union 2 – New York Red Bulls 3 (MLS, May 13, 2012) Joel Lindpere and Lionard Pajoy exchanged goals in the first half – with the former blasting home a left-footed shot in the 17th minute and the latter heading home a Freddy Adu cross – before Adu was sent off for picking up his second yellow just before halftime. Even down a man the Union came out of the break firing and Pajoy had the club back on top inside the opening minute of the second frame when he poked home from an odd angle. Kenny Cooper scored the winner in the 78th minute to lift the New York.

Brilliant Beckham FK secures Galaxy draw in Montreal; KC slip up in Chicago; RSL sink Seattle

Montreal Impact 1 – LA Galaxy 1 (MLS, May 12, 2012) Davy Arnaud had put the home side in front on 8 minutes but David Beckham, wearing his new pink boots, equalised with a stunning trademark free-kick on 61.

Columbus Crew 2 – FC Dallas 1 (MLS, May 12, 2012) Fabian Castillo’s first-half goal put the away team in the ascendancy but they were reduced to 10 men in the 64th minute when Zach Lloyd was dismissed and then two goals in six minutes from substitute Justin Meram and Sebastian Miranda turned the game on its head.

New England Revolution 4 – Vancouver Whitecaps 1 (MLS, May 12, 2012) Eric Hassli drew first blood for the Whitecaps after five minutes, but Lee Nguyen got the Revs back on level terms a minute later and further goals from Saer Sene (24) and Shalrie Joseph (33) put the hosts in control. Nguyen sealed the rout with his second of the match 18 minutes from time.

Chicago Fire 2 – Sporing Kansas City 1 (MLS, May 12, 2012) Bobby Convey put Sporting ahead in the 31st minute but it all went wrong for the visitors after the interval. They were pegged back by Sebastian Grazzini’s penalty equaliser on the hour, had Roger Espinoza sent off for elbowing Grazzini soon after and then a late Dominic Oduro tap-in condemned them to defeat.

Seattle Sounders 0 – Real Salt Lake 1 (MLS, May 12, 2012) Western Conference-leading Real Salt Lake won 1-0 in Seattle, ending the Sounders’ six-game winning streak. Edgar Espindola netted the game’s only goal with a left-footed volley six minutes into the second half.

New York Red Bulls 1 – Houston Dynamo 0 (MLS, May 9, 2012) Resolute defending on the back of an early Kenny Cooper goal saw the New York Red Bulls edge out Houston.

Chicago Fire 0 – Real Salt Lake 0 (MLS, May 9, 2012) The result moves the Fire to fourth on the Eastern Conference table while Real Salt Lake remain on top of the Western Conference.

FC Dallas 0 – Seattle Sounders 2 (MLS, May 9, 2012) Fredy Montero fired a powerful shot past Dallas goalkeeper Kevin Hartman in the 68th minute before Montero doubled Seattle’s lead soon after with a diving header.

LA Galaxy 0 – New York Red Bulls 1 (MLS, May 5, 2012) Joel Lindpere scored to help the Red Bulls win their first game since star player Thierry Henry was sidelined by injury.

Real Salt Lake 2 – New England Revolution 1 (MLS, May 5, 2012) Alvaro Saborio scored twice in the second half as RSL extended their unbeaten run to five games.

Sporting Kansas City 0 – Montreal Impact 2 (MLS, May 5, 2012) Felipe Martins scored in the 30th minute and Patrice Bernier converted a penalty in the 63rd as Montreal upset Sporting Kansas City.

Seattle Sounders 1 – Philadelphia Union 0 (MLS, May 5, 2012) Mauro Rosales’ second half strike gave the Sounders the points.

Toronto FC 0 – DC United 2 (MLS, May 5, 2012) Chris Pontius and Hamdi Salihi scored second-half goals and DC United beat Toronto FC, relegating the Reds to the worst start in MLS history of 8 straight losses at the start of the season.

Vancouver Whitecaps 2 – San Jose Earthquakes 1 (MLS, May 5, 2012) Second-half substitute Eric Hassli scored in the final minute of added time to give Vancouver a comeback victory over San Jose.

Pappa’s pile-driver pushes Chicago past Chivas

Chivas USA 1 – Chicago Fire 2 (MLS, May 4, 2012) Chicago recovered from Juan Pablo Angel’s first-half penalty to tie the game at 1-1 at the break, thanks to a goal from debutant Austin Berry. Marco Pappa’s long-range goal in second-half injury time clinched Chicago Fire’s 2-1 win.
