The headline fixture of the upcoming gameweek in Italy’s top-flight is set to play out at San Siro.
The matchup in question will see Milanese rivalries renewed, in the latest edition of the famed Derby della Madonnina.
Inter Milan will technically act as ‘hosts’, albeit with both sides, of course, playing their home fixtures at the Giuseppe Meazza (San Siro).
Adding extra spice to the occasion will be the fact that Inter and AC Milan currently occupy the top two spots in the Serie A table, owing to perfect respective records of nine points from nine.
It is the former, though, who lead the way on goal difference, having found the net on eight occasions without conceding even once to date.
The matchup will be part of Gameweek 407 on Sorare Football, and 101 Great Goals has broken down the key statistical takeaways ahead of the game.

Marcus Thuram
A name to keep an eye on on Saturday for a whole host of reasons, Marcus Thuram is fresh off a fine start to life in Italy, since his summer move from Borussia Monchengladbach. Forming a promising early partnership with Lautaro Martinez, the frontman has directly contributed to three goals in three, since adding his first-ever goal for the France senior side at the expense of the Republic of Ireland, too. Expect boos and jeers to rain down upon the 26-year-old throughout the derby showdown, however, after Thuram backed out of a summer agreement with AC Milan at the last minute, in favour of a move to Inter.
Federico Dimarco
Shifting attentions to Inter’s backline, one of two Nerazzurri wing-backs to have exploded out of the blocks in the early-season going comes in the form of Federico Dimarco. The Italian international has played a central role in Simone Inzaghi’s side maintaining a flawless defensive record to date. It is his contributions at the other end, though, which make Dimarco such a tempting pick. Owing to two assists in his three appearances, the 25-year-old has notched respective Sorare scores of 79, 100, and 92.
Lautaro Martinez
Standing above all when it comes to production in front of goal over the early weeks of Inter’s season, though, comes Lautaro Martinez. The Argentine matched his career-best mark of 21 Serie A goals last time out, but could be in line to blitz this mark in 2023/24. This comes with Martinez having already found the net five times in three appearances. The chief threat in a thriving Nerazzurri side, he looks a must-have for the upcoming round of fixtures.

Christian Pulisic
Another to have made his way to Italy from abroad this summer, Christian Pulisic has settled nicely into life in Stefano Pioli’s front-three at San Siro. Providing a timely reminder of why he was once considered one of European football’s brightest talents, the United States international found the net in each of his first two appearances, on his way to Sorare scores of 77 and 80. Looking a lock to maintain his starting berth for the time being, too, Pulisic could be a fine under-the-radar pick for weeks to come.
Rafael Leao
On the other side of Milan’s attacking trident comes another mercurial talent, in the form of Rafael Leao. The Portuguese international has picked up exactly where he left off last season, terrorising defences across Italy’s top-flight throughout the first three gameweeks. Two direct goal contributions have given rise to a pair of Man of the Match awards, too, with Leao himself no doubt desperate to replicate his brilliance of last September’s Derby della Madonnina, when his brace guided the Rossoneri to a 3-2 triumph.
Davide Calabria
Turning from explosive attackers to reliable defenders, Davide Calabria remains a steadying presence on the right of Milan’s back-four. The Italian’s best display of the campaign came last time out, when he notched a crucial assist to push Pioli and co. past Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma. Another guaranteed starter week in, week out, one could do a lot worse than add the Diavolo’s captain to their Sorare ranks this weekend.
