Liverpool reportedly have some advantage over Chelsea in the race for the potential transfer of Celta Vigo midfielder, Gabri Veiga, this summer.
According to Relevo, although Liverpool seem the slight favourites, it seems that Chelsea are also going in strongly for Veiga due to the desire of new manager Mauricio Pochettino
The central midfielder has just finished his first full season as a regular presence in Celta Vigo’s midfield.
During that time he scored an impressive 11 goals and provided four assists in 36 La Liga outings.
Such fine form has seen all of Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle linked.
But as it now looks to be a two-horse race between Chelsea and Liverpool, you would assume that it is the Reds who hold the advantage.
Liverpool’s form also fell off, but a solid run at the end of the campaign means they have Europa League football next season.
And as they will be one of the favourites to win the competition, it may sway Veiga in their direction.
