Every club’s all-time Premier League top goalscorer

Who leads your club’s scoring charts?

Prolific goalscorers are worth their weight in gold, and Harry Kane continues to prove that as he racks up the goals for Tottenham. His latest, a winner against Manchester City, made him Tottenham’s record goalscorer, but also brought up 200 in the Premier League for the Englishman, just the third player to reach that landmark.

But who leads the way for your club in the top flight? 101 took a look.

Arsenal - Thierry Henry (175)

Beginning with one of the all-time Premier League greats, Arsenal’s period of success at the turn of the century was spearheaded by French striker Thierry Henry, who to this day remains the only player in the division’s history to grab 20 goals and 20 assists in the same season.

Making the game look easy at times, he racked up an astonishing 228 goals for the Gunners after his move from Juventus, with 175 of those coming in the Premier League, and proving enough for two Premier League titles.

Aston Villa - Gabriel Agbonlahor (73)

Now more widely known for his questionable opinions on radio show TalkSPORT, Gabriel Agbonlahor was no slouch in his playing days.

The English striker, who represented his country on three occasions, racked up 73 Premier League goals across 322 appearances in the midlands, and helped Villa comfortably survive in the Premier League for the majority of his time there, even finishing as high as sixth under Martin O’Neil in 2010, a season in which he grabbed 13 goals.

Bournemouth - Josh King (48)

Now with Fenerbahce, former Cherries striker Joshua King left the south coast side to pursue bigger and better things at Everton, before being let go six months later and being snapped up by Watford. He has since moved away from the spotlight of the top flight, and is plying his trade in Turkey, where he continues to find the back of the net.

Under Eddie Howe, however, the Norwegian striker was excellent, grabbing 48 goals during the Cherries’ first stint in the Premier League, though he could not prevent them ultimately being relegated.

Brentford - Ivan Toney (25)

Having only been in the Premier League for two seasons, it is fair to say that Brentford’s Ivan Toney is well ahead of the pack at the top of the Bees’s scoring charts. Currently sitting at 25 goals, with 13 this season, his future remains unclear after being charged with over 250 betting breaches by the FA, but should he continue to play at the top level, he could make himself a club hero if he continues on his current trajectory.

Brighton - Glenn Murray (26) and Neal Maupay (26)

Glenn Murray has had a few scares in recent windows, but with the departures of Leandro Trossard (25 goals) in January and Maupay’s summer move to Everton, the Brighton folk hero continues to sit at least joint top of the club’s Premier League scoring charts.

Maupay, meanwhile, is struggling after his move to Goodison Park, though the pair are unlikely to be caught anytime soon if the regularity with which Brighton move players on is anything to go by.

Chelsea - Frank Lampard (147)

Who else but Mr Chelsea could be top of this list? The top-scoring midfielder in the Premier League, Lampard is also top of the charts for the Blues, having managed an impressive 147 goals during his career at Stamford Bridge.

A man who redefined a midfield role, he will forever hold a soft spot in Chelsea hearts despite a mixed time in charge years later.

Crystal Palace - Wilfried Zaha (67)

Out of contract in the summer, Zaha could finally be bringing his Crystal Palace journey to an end at the end of the 22/23 campaign and moving onto pastures new. It will not change his status as a club legend, however, with the Ivorian having helped the Eagles reach the top flight before spending his best years at Selhurst Park and racking up an impressive 67 goals in the process.

Everton - Romelu Lukaku (68)

Romelu Lukaku is a household name now, but really broke through at Goodison Park after a troublesome time with Chelsea with some stunning goal returns. The Belgian spearheaded an attack that also included Ross Barkley, Kevin Mirallas and Steven Piennar.

The Toffees have struggled to ever really replace him, and their lack of goals could send them into the Championship unless Sean Dyche can produce a minor miracle. What they’d give for even 5 of Lukaku’s 68 between now and the end of the season.

Fulham - Clint Dempsey (50)

In Fulham’s midtable glory days, few were better for the Cottagers than Clint Dempsey. Often linked with moves away to Tottenham (who he eventually joined) and Liverpool, the USMNT international spent five seasons at Craven Cottage, plus a six month loan spell, during which time he managed an impressive 50 goals.

Leeds United - Mark Viduka (59)

Part of the team that was expensively put together and ultimately led to Leeds’ massive financial problems and them dropping out of the Premier League, Viduka only spent four years at Elland Road but was a massive fan favourite, and not a bad goalscorer.

Helping himself to an average of almost 15 goals per season, the Australian striker was the club’s top goalscorer in each of his seasons in Yorkshire, even grabbing 12 the season that they ultimately got relegated, which led to him leaving.

Leicester City - Jamie Vardy (134)

A man now synonymous with Leicester City, Vardy continues to find the back of the net even well past his prime. Crucial to their famous 2016 Premier League title win, the Englishman is known for his love of Red Bull and his ability to terrify opposition defenders.

He currently sits 14th in the all-time Premier League goalscorers charts with 134, but is one of just six players on this list still able to add to his tally at the club where he reigns supreme.

Liverpool - Robbie Fowler (128)

Liverpool icon Robbie Fowler currently sits top of Liverpool’s Premier League charts at the time of writing (February 2023), but may not be there for much longer.

Lurking just three goals behind the Englishman is Mohamed Salah, with the Egyptian on course to take top spot before the end of the 22/23 campaign even with his side in their worst ever form under Jurgen Klopp.

Manchester City - Sergio Aguero (184)

The scorer of perhaps the Premier League’s most iconic goal and the one that clinched Manchester City’s first Premier League title, Manchester City’s top goalscorer is not even close, with Sergio Aguero far and away the most prolific player that the Etihad have ever seen.

184 top-flight goals across a decade in Manchester made him one of the most lethal attackers in world Football, and he already has a statue outside the Etihad just two years after his departure.

Manchester United - Wayne Rooney (183)

Like Aguero across Manchester, Wayne Rooney’s career is remembered in goals, with his overhead kick against Manchester City one of the best goals in the history of the division.

The only player in the top flight with over 100 assists and 200 goals, 183 of those strikes came in Manchester United red, and his career is often underrated thanks to his early retirement. Despite that, he sits well clear atop the Red Devils standings, and won’t be caught any time soon.

Newcastle United - Alan Shearer (148)

The most prolific player in Premier League history, Shearer only managed a mere 148 of those for hometown side Newcastle United, after joining the club from Blackburn Rovers in 1996.

Though he never won the title on Tyneside, he enjoyed plenty of prolific seasons with the Magpies across his decade spell at the club.

Nottingham Forest - Bryan Roy (24)

Nottingham Forest have not been in the Premier League for two decades before this season, but during their time in the top flight it was a flying Dutchman of their own, Bryan Roy, who took the headlines.

Arriving from Italy, the winger hit 13 goals in his first season, which dropped to 8 the following season. Another underwhelming season followed before he made the switch to Germany, but it was still enough to see him top of their Premier League goalscoring charts.

Southampton - Matt Le Tissier (101)

Who else? Southampton have not been prolific in recent seasons, but will always have fond memories of Matt Le Tissier. Able to score the spectacular as well as the mundane, his 101 Premier League goals wrote him into Saints history and makes him one of few players to reach triple figures in the top flight.

Tottenham Hotspur - Harry Kane (200)

Harry Kane’s winner against Manchester City brought up his 200th in the Premier League, as well as taking him past Jimmy Greaves as Tottenham’s all-time record goalscorer.

England’s captain is the only Premier League man to manage to hit 200 at one club, and though he has no trophies to show for it, should he stick around for another few years, he is on course to fly past Alan Shearer as the highest scoring Premier League player of all time.

West Ham United - Michail Antonio (58)

With West Ham enjoying one of their strongest runs in the Premier League, it is safe to say that Antonio has been a big part of that. The Jamaican attacker has often been the man to dig the Hammers out of trouble when they needed it most, and though few would describe him as prolific, he is certainly persistent.

58 goals for the club in 215 Premier League outings attests to just that.

Wolverhampton Wanderers - Raul Jimenez (40)

Wolves are another side on this list renowned for their low goalscoring, but in their first season that wasn’t always the case. Mexican striker Raul Jimenez spearheaded an attack that overcame sides in the top six with relative ease.

Though a head injury has largely stalled Jimenez’s career, he continues to pull away at the top of the list at Molineux.
