Honduras vs Barbados match preview
Will Honduras win their final friendly before this summer’s CONCACAF Gold Cup gets underway?
On Thursday night, La H were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Venezuela at Audi Field, home of D.C. United.
Diego Vásquez’s side will kick off their Gold Cup campaign in seven days time, taking on Mexico on Houston, before facing Qatar in Phoenix and then Haiti in Charlotte.
Honduras will fancy their chances of getting out of the group, as they did two years ago, targeting a confidence-boosting victory in this friendly in Louisiana.
Barbados meantime have never qualified for the Gold Cup, finishing bottom of their Nations League B group last year, below Cuba, Guadeloupe and Antigua and Barbuda, losing five of six fixures.
The Bajan Tridents’ sole victory in that campaign did come last time out, a 2-1 victory at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in March, but they remain very much amongst the region’s minnows.
