Chelsea join race for Manchester United transfer target

Manchester United look set to face competition for a key target.

The man in question is Rasmus Hojlund.

All of Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal have been credited with an interest in the Dane in recent months, but it was the former of that trio who looked to be leading the race.

As 101 covered on Saturday, the young Dane has ‘has agreed personal terms with Man United’ while the club have ‘had encouragement over a deal following talks in recent days with Serie A club Atalanta.’

Now, however, it seems a second Premier League side want to sign Hojlund.

A report from Fichajes claims that Chelsea are now looking to enter the race for the talented young striker and they are likely to make a push for him.

Little more information is given on Chelsea’s interest, but it is fair to assume they could match any financial package offered to the club or player by Manchester United.

He has impressed during his spell in Serie A, scoring eight goals in 31 league appearances and seven goals in various cup competitions. He also provided seven assists.
