PSG set to announce Neymar contract, ‘No agreement’ made with Kylian Mbappe

PSG set to announce Neymar contract, ‘No agreement’ made with Kylian Mbappe

Neymar contract close to announcement

PSG were knocked out of the Champions League by Manchester City but face some hugely positive news in the form of their Brazilian talisman.

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano made the announcement last night that a contract of 5 years is about to be signed.

‘Neymar is set to sign his new contract with PSG, never been in doubt and confirmed by L’Équipé. The new agreement will until June 2026 for €30m/season. Big announcement coming. Huge bonus in case PSG will win the Champions League in the next years,’ he wrote.

This is set to put an end to the rumours regarding a return to Barcelona. Instead, it could reinvigorate the want of PSG to bring Lionel Messi to the Parc des Princes.

Neymar went on record earlier this year speaking of his desire to play again with the Argentine.

“What I want most of all is to play with Messi again, to be able to enjoy him once again on the pitch,” Neymar said.

“He can play in my place, I have no problem with that! But I want to play with him next year, for sure. We have to do it next season.”

Mbappe deal not close

Despite the positive news surrounding Neymar, there is still much work to be done in convincing Kylian Mbappe to stay.

Again, Romano was the man to report that there is no agreement in place with Mbappe.

The club’s sporting director Leonardo was unwilling to discuss the intricacies of contracts before the Champions League semis.

“We will be happy to talk about contracts [soon]. We will have to see how things are. Things will be more concrete soon,” he said.

“But for now we have to concentrate on the Champions League as we are entering the final phase.”

Mbappe has been linked with a move away and the somber defeat to Manchester City could have swayed him to look for a route to a club with a better chance of lifting Europe’s elite prize.
