Manchester United agree to personal terms with Dutch international Tyrell Malacia

The Erik ten Hag regime at Manchester United is finally up and running in the transfer market this summer, as the Red Devils have reportedly agreed to terms with Feyenoord's Tyrell Malacia.

Per the ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano, United have reached an agreement on terms with the 22-year-old Dutch international ahead of a move that will cost the club just £13 million, as well as £1.7 million in potential add-ons.

United swooped in to get the deal over the line after Ligue 1 outfit Olympic de Lyonnais had made headway in discussions of their own, with Ten Hag eyeing Malacia as a long-term option for United to compete with current first-choice left-back Luke Shaw.

The Rotterdam-native and Feyenoord academy graduate is unlikely to be the only player in the door at United this summer that has spent time in the Eredivisie, with the Red Devils heavily linked with a move for Ajax's Lisandro Martínez to add to their long-standing interest in Dutch international star Frenkie de Jong.

Ten Hag looks to be rapidly closing on completing a deal for De Jong, after reports surfaced suggesting that United and Barcelona had reached a loose agreement on terms that would see the midfielder arrive at Old Trafford for £56 million+.

With Ten Hag adamant about spearheading a rapid refit across the first-team squad, it should be expected that further deals could be completed before the club set off for their pre-season tour on 8 July.
