Ek revealed during the day of the Arsenal protests on Friday that he would be willing to throw his hat into the ring should the American owner decide he was open to selling.
As a kid growing up, Iâve cheered for @Arsenal as long as I can remember. If KSE would like to sell Arsenal I’d be happy to throw my hat in the ring.

However, there had been doubts over whether the Spotify co-founder, said to be worth £3.4 billion, had the capacity to raise the necessary funds to convince KSE to sell.
They value the club at around £2 billion but it isn’t as simple as looking at Ek’s worth and believing he can then afford the club.
Despite being ‘worth’ more than the club valuation, Ek would need to raise the funds through the sale of assets which could prove difficult.
Invincibles to the rescue
With this difficulty in mind, to help Ek’s cause, supposedly Henry, Vieira and Bergkamp have joined forces in an attempt to help buy the club.
I have it on good authority that Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Patrick Vieira have joined Daniel Ek in his bid to buy Arsenal FC and I am told it is very real. #afc Story: https://t.co/jKhk28kZ9k

Granted, the trio are very wealthy individuals having earned excellent salaries throughout their playing careers and beyond.
With Henry going into punditry with Sky Sports before taking a similar path as Vieira into coaching, the income has remained high. Meanwhile, Bergkamp has also worked in coaching with Ajax but left his role in 2017.
However, it seems that this may be more of a stunt to help drive fan support of Ek rather than aiding in additional funds to help secure the club. Although, it could have the benefit of attracting other investors to form a consortium with Ek.
Only time will tell whether the bid can be successful but KSE are known for their stubbornness of not wanting to sell the club, with Josh Kroenke even saying he has ‘no intention’Â of selling.
