Florentino Perez takes shots at Man City & Chelsea as he refuses to give up on Super League

Perez says Super League not dead

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has said that the Super League is not dead and that so far none of the teams have officially left.

“The ESL has not dissolved. Juve, Milan, have not left. Barcelona is reflecting on it. We could consider the top four clubs in each league. The target is to have more interesting games,” said Perez

ESPN’s Gabriel Marcotti reacted to the Real president’s interview by saying that, “he keeps talking because no one else will.”

Chelsea & City in firing line

Perez then went on the attack on the English clubs, notably Manchester City and Chelsea.

“Do you think Real Madrid fans are stupid? Do you really think I have to ask them if they would like big games on Tuesdays? There were only ’40’ Chelsea fans and if you want I will tell you who took them there,” said Perez.

“[Chelsea fans] were taking there by the same people that made players wear shirts tonight.”

An argument to say that 40 people were at the Chelsea protest was plainly wrong by the images that were shared across social media.

He was then questioned whether it was Manchester City who were the English side which destabilised the others and he was not candid in his answer.

“Someone in the English group was not that interested and that was contagious, others showed fear and backed off.”

When asked if it were City he said, “They were never interested. If this project doesn’t come off, another one will.”
