Fantasy managers take note: Why you shouldn’t sell Bruno Fernandes before Liverpool

Fernandes form a worry?

With the Portuguese having not secured an attacking return in any of his last three Gameweeks, many Fantasy Football managers are considering dropping Bruno Fernandes ahead of the clash between Manchester United and Liverpool.

The usual guaranteed banker has scored 10 or more points in just 1 of the last 7 Gameweeks he has played in.

With a tough tie against a Liverpool team gunning for the top-4 incoming, and with United with one eye on the Europa League, is it not wise to feel that he may be an option to cash in on, and swap out?

Why you should keep him

The numbers are being crunched regarding Fernandes.

The Portuguese international has endured a tough spell of form of late, but many expect this to turn.

Fernandes appears on both the goals and assists imminent tables, meaning that an explosion of points could be just around the corner.

Another reason relates to the abundance of penalties involving United and Liverpool. Fernandes is of course the number one penalty taker for the Red Devils.

Liverpool have given away the second most penalties in the Premier League this season, whilst United have taken the second most. It seems a match made for a spot-kick.

Finally, looking into the deep statistics, it is suggested that Fernandes is in fact producing the kind of form which resulted in sky-high returns early in the season.

There is also the potential for a double Gameweek in round 35, which Fernandes would be included in.

Fernandes feels team has improved since he arrived

The man himself feels that United will soon be pushing for a title under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

“I think honestly the team has improved a lot since I arrived,” said Fernandes.

“I feel the improvement, but I think the team is improving since the coach arrived. He’s trying to put his hand on the team and make it better and better.

“I have to talk about since I’m here and, since I’m here, I feel the team is improving, but what I see before is the team was already improving and making big steps.

“Sometimes it falls down, but it’s trying to be consistent.

“I think Manchester United has to be a contender every season for the title, for every trophy and not just for the Premier League – for every trophy.”
