Barcelona in advanced negotiations over first summer arrival

Spanish giants FC Barcelona are inching towards closing their first piece of business ahead of the summer window, as Xavi Hernandez prepares to welcome yet another up-and-coming starlet into his ranks.

The player set to take his talents to the Camp Nou imminently? Pablo Torre.

Torre, an 18-year-old midfielder, has caught the eye of a number of La Liga's heavyweights across the campaign to date, owing to his exploits in Spain's 3rd tier with Real Racing Club.

And now, as per a mounting number of reports across the media on Friday afternoon, Barcelona are primed to beat out the stiff competition to clinch the Racing standout's signature ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

A full agreement is understood to have been reached between club and player over the terms of a contract, with negotiations, in turn, at the 'final stage' between the Blaugrana and Racing.

Elche test

Turning attentions back towards the job at hand in the Catalan capital, Barca will of course return to action this coming weekend.

Xavi and co. are set to make the trip to Alicante to take on Elche, with confidence no doubt high in the camp on the back of a timely upturn in form over recent weeks.

All told, on their way to making it seven unbeaten across all competitions, the Blaugrana put four past each of Valencia, Napoli and Athletic Club, to solidify themselves as clear front-runners to nab La Liga’s final Champions League spot.
