Man United brand takes new shape in officially released fan shirt

Adidas has gone down the same route as French outfit Paris Saint-Germain and competitor Nike with their release of the official ‘fan shirt’ for Premier League juggernaut

In pictures revealed by Footy Headlines, the global apparel company released the simplistic design in two colours; black and red. The features of the shirts are quite simple, with Man United red devil logo, player name and number (front and back), and Adidas logo being the only design features.

The font of the shirt is the exact same that can be found on the clubs official kit this season. The fan shirt can be imprinted with the names of the following Man United stars; Paul Pogba, Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes, and Luke Shaw, and can be purchased for £26.

Adidas and Nike setting a new precedent?

With Nike’s release of the PSG fan shirt and now Adidas following suit close behind with their Man United effort, one has to wonder if the global giants will set a precedent regarding club apparel.

Interestingly enough, the Man United fan shirt can compete with the clubs official kit for look, while the PSG fan shirt is also quite nice as well.

But a point can be made in asking why simple t-shirts have been designed with more thought and care than some kits that have been released from both company this season. If this is simply about trying to maximize profit, both Adidas and Nike seem to be on a potential winning strategy with the PSG and Man United fan shirts potentially showing to be successful proving grounds.
