Why Joao Cancelo is set to snub Arsenal

Joao Cancelo will not be following in the footsteps of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko, according to reports.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Manchester City defender Joao Cancelo in the summer transfer window to help bolster their ranks.

Cancelo’s Manchester City career seemingly came to an abrupt end in January when he was loaned out to Bayern Munich despite the fact City had very little natural cover at left-back for him.

However, City did not need it and have already won the Premier League, with the FA Cup and Champions League just two games away.

Now, a summer move for the Portuguese has been touted, with a reported €40m price-tag on the full-back’s head.

And whilst Cancelo would be a good fit for Arsenal and make an excellent replacement for Kieran Tierney, the defender looks set to snub the north Londoners.

This comes with German transfer guru Maximilian Koch reporting that Joao Cancelo does not want to return to the Premier League.
