Nuno Tavares opens up on Arsenal future in fresh update

Nuno Tavares is currently out on loan with Marseille.

Tavares joined Arsenal from Benfica in 2021 and was expected to compete with Kieran Tierney for a starting berth at left-back.

Tavares made 28 appearances in 2021/22 for the Gunners, but his defensive ability was somewhat lacking and poor judgement on the part of the defender led to him gifting a number of goals away.

Tavares was then loaned to Marseille for the 2022/23 season, with Oleksandr Zinchenko coming in to take his place and firmly cementing himself as Arsenal’s no.1 left-back.

The 23-year-old has impressed on loan in France, though, scoring six goals in 20 Ligue 1 appearances so far.

Now, with the summer window slowly approaching, there is much speculation over where Tavares will be playing his football next term.

And now, the player himself has provided a fresh update:

“We’ll finish the season. I’m here until the end of the season to reach our objectives with Marseille. I can’t tell you much more. “At the end of the season, I will return to Arsenal. I can’t say much more.”
