According to Calcio Mercato, Liverpool are interested in Juventus midfielder Manuel Locatelli, who is a very important player for the Serie A giants.
The Italy international joined the Bianconeri from Sassuolo back in the summer of 2021 after impressing with the national team during their run to the European Championship finals where they beat England on penalties.
Locatelli is said to be valued at around €35m, but it is likely that the 25-year-old will cost Liverpool more should they make a move.
Liverpool’s biggest weakness this season has been their midfield.
Jurgen Klopp built his success at Liverpool around a fast, powerful, pressing midfield, which mainly consisted of Georginio Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson and Fabinho.
However, Wijnaldum has now left, Henderson is not the player he once was and Fabinho has also put in some questionable displays over the last few months.
James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are all out of contract at the end of the season and are expected to depart and Locatelli could come in to replace one of them.
The Italian has previously been linked with a move to Arsenal but Juve beat the Gunners to his signature at the time.
