Premier League outfit Crystal Palace have, on Sunday, been dealt a potentially decisive blow in their ongoing efforts to bring Wilfried Zaha back to the club.
The future of wide-man Zaha, of course, has long been up in the air.
This comes after the Ivorian international failed to come to an agreement on the terms of a new contract with long-time club Crystal Palace.
Zaha is understood to have been keen to seek out a move to one of European football’s heavyweight clubs, before entering the twilight years of his career.
To this point, however, such interest has not been forthcoming.
The 30-year-old has received a quartet of contract proposals, but these have come by way of Lazio, Fenerbahce, Al-Nassr, and the aforementioned Palace.
Such developments had culminated in suggestions over recent days that the powers that be at Selhurst Park were, in turn, increasingly confident of bringing Zaha back to south London.

If the latest word stemming from the media this afternoon is anything to go by, however, then, in fact, the attacker appears to be headed elsewhere.
As per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Turkish giants Galatasaray are in what are described as ‘advanced’ negotiations to bring Zaha to Istanbul.
Gala are said to be ‘pushing’ to get a deal over the line, with Crystal Palace’s record-breaking £200,000-per-week contract offer looking increasingly likely to fall short.
