Chelsea’s most likely centre-forward target revealed

An insight into Chelsea’s transfer plans have been provided on Sunday.

It is all but official that Mauricio Pochettino will be taking the reins at Chelsea for the 2023/24 season.

Before the appointment has been confirmed by the Blues, an insight into Chelsea and Pochettino’s plans for the summer have been revealed.

According to the report from the Daily Mail, Pochettino and Chelsea have and are continuing to already speak about transfer targets for this summer, with four names mentioned.

They claim that Inter’s Lautaro Martinez is the most likely centre-forward target, whilst Chelsea still want Declan Rice, and Alexis Mac Allister of Brighton is also mentioned. The last player named is Aston Villa goalkeeper, Emi Martinez.

Chelsea have been without a proper no.9 this season, with Romelu Lukaku back on loan with Inter Milan.

The Belgian is expected to return to the club this summer and if Lautaro Martinez is signed, the pair could reform their Inter Milan attacking duo.

However, Pochettino and Chelsea are not known for playing two strikes, so it will be interesting to see what happens on that front.
