Rochdale are aiming to get out of the relegation zone in 2023 when they play hosts to Newport County at the Crown Oil Arena with the club dropping points once more over the past weekend.
The Dale remain in the bottom two of League Two in 2023 after drawing 0-0 with Barrow on New Year’s Day. It was only the eighth time they’ve picked up points this season with them drawing four and winning four.
They have a gap of three points to make up on 22nd Hartlepool United, while Rochdale are ahead of Gillingham by two points. On a positive note, the club have a game in hand over the three clubs above them.
As for Newport, they are still in 18th after drawing three games in a row since Christmas. The club started this run with a 1-1 draw against Wimbledon, before a 0-0 draw with Leyton Orient and a 2-2 game with Crawley Town.
They remain nine points above Rochdale in the relegation zone, with the South Wales side having won six games and scored 23 times from 24 games.
