Hartlepool will be aiming to build on their best run of form this season as Keith Curle’s men head into their match with Mansfield at home having won their last two games as the away side have drawn two in a row.
Despite registering two draws on the spin, Mansfield can be pleased at the fact they avoided defeat in the games against Stevenage and Northampton Town just above them in the table.
It showed how much the club can battle with the big guns in League Two, as Will Swann scored in the 1-1 draw with Northampton after a goalless game against Stevenage.
Hartlepool defeated Rochdale 2-1 last time out away from home, in what is arguably their best result of the season. After also beating Crawley Town 2-0 earlier in the month, the Monkey Hangers have now won two in a row for the first time this season and sit 21st in the table.
Nevertheless, Hartlepool are still just three points above Rochdale in the tense and unpredictable relegation battle.
