Why Manchester United arrived at Old Trafford early vs Brighton & injury boost revealed

Manchester United arrived at Old Trafford earlier than usual for their meeting with Brighton.

Manchester United’s first game of the season sees them take on Brighton at 2 pm UK time on Sunday.

United head into the match on the back of a positive pre-season under new manager, Erik ten Hag.

The Red Devils will also no doubt be keen to avoid a repeat of the 4-0 drubbing they received at the hands of the Seagulls in their last meeting on May 7th.

Brighton, though, are no pushover and are expected to prove a stern test for Ten Hag in his first real taste of English football.

Ahead of the game, Manchester United’s squad arrived at Old Trafford early than they usually do. However, an explanation for this has been provided by The Athletic.

They report that the early arrival to Old Trafford is at Erik ten Hag’s request as he wanted to have a team meal in the stadium suite.

Elsewhere, in a major boost to Manchester United, Jadon Sancho is back in the squad after suffering from an illness that kept him out of United’s last few pre-season friendlies.

Anthony Martial remains sidelined, though, with a front-three of Marcus Rashford, Cristiano Ronaldo and Sancho expected vs Brighton.
