Tottenham go into the summer filled with promise under Antonio Conte after Spurs fought off a late charge by bitter rivals Arsenal in the race for fourth that saw the Gunners fall short, much to the delight of the Lillywhites faithful at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Now, that feeling of promise and what is to come has surely been elevated considerably after news broke earlier today that Tottenham is set to receive a £150million boost as the summer transfer window looms.

In an official statement on the club's website, Tottenham has agreed to the capital increase on the back of their financial gains in recent years, which have included increased financial opportunities thanks to their new ground.

The latest injection of equity has directly been targeted to help the club push on under boss Antonio Conte and help the club push in their wish to compete for major honors both at home and abroad, a notion that club chairman Daniel Levy echoed.

"The delivery of a world-class home was always a key building block in driving diversified revenues to enable us to invest in the teams and support our ambitions to be consistently competing at the highest levels of European football. Additional capital from ENIC will now enable further investment in the Club at an important time."

Non-executive director Jonathan Turner mirrored that sentiment; "We are pleased to welcome this investment which demonstrates the unequivocal support and commitment of our majority shareholder, ENIC. It is a timely injection of funds to ensure we can continue to grow the club we all love and underlines the Board’s continued ambitions for success."

On the back of the news, it is now clear why Conte and club director of football Fabio Paratici reversed gears when it come to Swedish forward Dejan Kulusevski.

Initially, it was assumed that the club was prepared to trigger the €25million buy clause - which will increase to €35million next season - after the on-loan Juventus forward has been one of the biggest catalysts behind Tottenham's push into the Champions League.

But the club brass reversed and are planning on keeping Kulusevksi officially on loan for another season, and it can now be presumed that Tottenham now plans to mobilize every pound in their attempt to continue to add new blood at the behest of Conte in order for Spurs to hopefully push on all fronts and allow Conte to truly build the side he desires.

Not good news if you are an Arsenal supporter.
