‘He gets worse every time I watch him’ – Spurs supporters sharpen knives for one player in first-half of Leicester City clash
Tottenham head into the break level
Tottenham head into the break of their clash with Leicester City level at 1-1, despite dominating for much of the encounter.
Harry Kane saw a shot cleared off the line and a header hit the bar before Patson Daka opened the scoring for the home side against the run of play.

However, after Kane had another shot cleared off the line, he finally found a way past the Leicester City defence, rifling home an equaliser with ten minutes left in an end-to-end half.
One man singled out for criticism
Nevertheless, amid what was largely a positive first half for Spurs, one player still stood out like a sore thumb in a white shirt, according to the club’s fanbase.
The man in question? Summer signing Emerson Royal.
The Brazilian has struggled since his move on deadline day, and endured another 45 minutes to forget this evening. And boy did Spurs fans pick up on it:
Emerson Royal gets worse everytime I watch him. Shocking footballer with and without the ball

Emerson Royal is terrible. Awful and desperate example of recruitment.

Emerson Royal literally the worst full back that has ever played for us, if he was a horse he would long since ended up in a glue factory

— Daniel (@Procrastinatus) January 19, 2022
Unpopular opinion: Emerson Royal is not only shit offensively, he is equally shit defensively as well. #thfc

Emerson Royal might be the worst player I’ve ever seen in a Spurs shirt. Has nothing about him. #LEITOT

If Emerson Royal is better that Doherty… well boy!
— Coke Rap Rob (@RobStar07) January 19, 2022
With Adama Traore linked with a move to north London, are the days of Emerson in a Lilywhite shirt already numbered?
