Giroud names best players he lined up with in London

Olivier Giroud remains an enigma of a player at both club level and for France.

Constantly overlooked and undervalued, the Chambéry-native painted an interesting picture during his time in the Premier League with rival clubs Chelsea and Arsenal.

At both clubs, Giroud lined up alongside some phenomenally talented footballers at Stamford Bridge and the Emirates across nearly a decade of service in the English capital, and the winner of 110 caps for France named the best players he had the privilege of playing with at both clubs.

When speaking with Tribal Football (cited by the Mirror), Giroud mentioned a little Spanish wizard and a current Belgian great as the best he featured with in both Chelsea blue and Arsenal red;

“One of the best players I played with at Arsenal was Santi Cazorla. And at Chelsea, Eden Hazard, and there were so many young talented players at Chelsea as well.”

Current Chelsea youngsters can become top players

But Giroud did not only speak about past on-pitch relationships and admiration of former club mates, but of current players that have what it takes to reach the highest level in Europe.

The current AC Milan striker, who has bagged 3-goals in his first-four Serie A fixtures for his new club this season, named Chelsea duo Mason Mount and Kai Havertz as a duo that “will become top players”;

“Mason and Kai Havertz, different class, different quality, and I’m looking forward to seeing them grow up and become top players.

Mason has got that quality and mentality to go very high, I’ve told him. He deserves to be successful, definitely.

Considering the company that Olivier Giroud has kept over the years for both club and country, it is high praise indeed bestowed upon the starlet duo who are unquestionably key long-term pieces at Stamford Bridge.
