French international winger Ousmane Dembélé has never been closer to solidifying his future as reports point to the 25-year-old having come to the table with Spanish giants Barcelona to agree to a contract extension, with both sides close to a full agreement.

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano shed light on the current situation in Catalunya after tweeting that Barcelona now hold all the cards in their decision regarding whether or not they intend to keep Dembélé as part of the Xavi transformation at the Camp Nou, or if they intend to let him walk away for good.

Dembélé is said to be awaiting the decision ahead of a possible move to Premier League giants Chelsea, while rumors that his agent was spotted at the operating center of Serie A side Inter Milan could spark another transfer war for the Frenchman in due course.

With Chelsea's interest in the former Borussia Dortmund and Stade Rennais starlet undeniable, the future of Leeds United's Brazilian talisman Raphinha is also set to remain in the balance given the possible scenarios at hand.

Both the Blues and Barcelona have also expressed interest in the 25-year-old right-sided winger, and it is likely that whichever option Barça decide to take, Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea are ready to go in the opposite direction.

Given that the Spanish giants reportedly matched the Blues' bid for Raphinha, there is still every chance that Barcelona could opt for a move for the Brazilian instead, freeing Dembélé to potentially reunite with Tuchel after the pair successfully joined forces in the Ruhr valley during the 2016-17 Bundesliga season.
