Arsenal seek out Eredivisie star as potential Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang replacement

Arsenal are lining up a move for Eredivisie star Coady Gakpo should they be able to shift Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this January, as per reports coming out of France.
Foot Mercato report that the 22-year-old winger, who currently plies his trade for PSV Eindhoven, would be lined up as a replacement for the Gabonese striker, who has not played a game for Arsenal since November.
Worse still, Aubameyang has been left out of the Gunners’ winter trip to Dubai, the clearest indication yet that his bridges in north London have been well and truly burned.
Revealed: Aubameyang was not fined for previous indiscretions, e.g. being late for north London derby. That led to surprise at how December incident escalated to a state where he is now not going on the Dubai training camp.

Aubameyang’s fall from grace
Stripped of the Arsenal captaincy, Aubameyang has been training alone since returning from international duty with Gabon last week, heading home after scans picked up on potential heart lesions.
And rumours have been circulating since that he could depart this January, amid the Gunners’ high-profile search for a new striker.

Six European clubs have been linked, along with Saudi side Al Nassr, but no deal has been agreed yet.
Coady Gakpo, his potential replacement, could be an ace up Arsenal’s sleeve late in the January window. The winger has picked up 6 goals and 10 assists for PSV this season in the Dutch top-flight, as well as 4 goals in 10 games across the Champions and Europa League.
At 22 years old, he would continue the club’s project youth, and could provide some much-needed backup for Bukayo Saka.
