Gameweek 376: Sorare MLS top performers

LA Galaxy climbed off the foot of the Western Conference after a second half fightback earned them an entertaining 3-2 win over Real Salt Lake in Gameweek 376 of MLS, while Cincinnati maintained their lead at the top of the Eastern Conference.

The Orange and Blue saw off New York City 3-1 to keep them eight points clear, while there were also wins for Philadelphia to stay eight points adrift, but in the Western Conference Seattle Sounders suffered a blow to their hopes after losing 1-0 at home to San Jose – missing the chance to go four clear.

Each week 101 Great Goals will look at the best performing players in each position in Sorare MLS to give you an insight into which players might be worth considering as we head into the next gameweek.

Goalkeeper

Spencer Richey – 70

Richey made a surprise appearance for Chicago Fire, coming off the bench in place of Chris Brady following a first-half collision, but his made his presence felt with a fine display. The stand-in keeper, whose only previous appearance this season came at the start of March, made four saves – three of which were from inside the box – to help restrict Toronto to a goalless draw and earn a score of 70 in just 60 minutes played.

  • General: -5
  • Goalkeeping: 15.5
  • Possession: -0.1

Defender

Julio Cascante – 84

Austin have been climbing up the table in recent weeks having won three of their last four matches and after a spell out of the side, Cascante has been a part of that. Having missed 10 games on the bounce, the centre-back has now played five of the last six and has a good L5 score of 62, the latest of which was the total of 84 in the 2-1 win over Minnesota. Cascante was fortunate to contribute an assist after he was adjudged to have got the last touch on a long throw that led to Sebastian Drussi’s winner.

  • General: 2
  • Defence: 4.5
  • Possession: 13.2
  • Attack: 6
  • Decisive: 60

Midfielder

Lucas Zelarayan – 100

That recent form peaked with a perfect score of 100 in the entertaining 3-2 win over Colorado Rapids, playing a part in each goal by contributing one goal and two assists in his 73 minutes on the pitch. In just 12 matches so far this season, that takes him to six goals and three assists already which is already over halfway to beating last year’s total contributions.

Zelarayan’s breakdown of Sorare points in the game was:

  • General: 0
  • Defence: -2

Cucho Hernandez – 90

Also in form for Columbus in that win that moved them up to sixth in the Eastern Conference was Hernandez, who netted his second goal of the season in what was another fine Sorare score for the striker of late. Despite not being prolific in front of goal, he has four assists to his name this season and recent scores of 80, 47, 65, 75, 64 and 90 to give him an L5 of 68.
