Best MLS players on Sorare in June

To celebrate Independence Day in the United States, Sorare have released the best performing team in MLS in June.

With the major European leagues taking a break for summer, MLS is the highest profile league going on in the summer months on Sorare with 57,000 people playing the MLS Amateur league in Gameweek 386.

101 Great Goals tracks the best performing players on a weekly basis – you can find the latest updates on Sorare MLS – but to coincide with July 4, Sorare have released the best performing players across the month of June to give managers a longer term view of the best players available.

Jonathan Sirois: 68

It is no surprise that the Montreal goalkeeper was the best in class in June. Not only was he the best-scoring, but he was so far ahead of his colleagues he was essentially in a league of his own. An L5 average of 68 is outstanding for any player, but for a goalkeeper it is extremely rare and goes to show the impact he had in his four games – despite missing his side’s first match of the month. If the date range had been extended by one month then that L5 score would have gone up to 82 after a brilliant return of 90 in his most recent match.

Julio Cascante: 73

Austin centre-back Cascante has had a fine month, with two goals and an assist bumping his L5 average up to 73 and making him the best defender in MLS in June. A perfect score of 100 against Dallas was the highlight of the month and there were further good performances against Real Salt Lake and Houston Dynamo, lowered only by the 4-1 defeat to Sporting KC.

Lucas Zelarayan: 82

Zelarayan has long been one of the standouts not just in MLS, but on Sorare altogether. His June performance is nothing out of the ordinary, with an L40 average of 66, an L15 of 73 and an even better L5 in June of 82 thanks to two goals and three assists across the month. Columbus Crew had a lot of matches in that time – and Zelarayan also played twice for Armenia – but he had a perfect score against Colorado, scores of 88, and 73 as well as a 65 in the month (not to mention a perfect score for his country as well) in what amounted to a superb run of sustained form.

Ryan Gauld: 81

Alan Pulido: 71

Veteran striker Pulido has already enjoyed his best goalscoring season of MLS since arriving from Mexico, and it’s been a welcome return to fitness after a knee injury wiped him out of any game time in the 2022 campaign. He scored five goals in four June matches – adding another on July 1 – with one assist to boot, earning him an impressive score of 71. He has continued that form going into July to give him hopes that his knee issues are well and truly in the past.
