4 Sorare MLS gems for Gameweek 369

Conference toppers New England and Seattle Sounders face Toronto FC and Sporting KC in MLS this weekend in Sorare’s Gameweek 369, while the most in-form team in the league DC United travel to Cincinnati.

Atlanta missed the chance to close the gap at the top of the Eastern Conference after going down 3-1 away at Nashville and will be looking to bounce back against Inter Miami, who themselves ended a winless run.

101 Great Goals has looked at the data to see which players you should consider picking for the week ahead in your Sorare MLS team, analysing the most in-form players judging by their last five average scores and looked at who each player is to come up against in the next gameweek to suggest who you should pick in your side.

Goalkeeper

Tyler Miller

For a man who wasn’t really in the reckoning for Minnesota, Miller has been a big hit since moving to DC United and has established himself as a valuable pick in Sorare MLS. He has been an ever-present since joining Wayne Rooney’s side, and has rewarded the faith with a string of strong performances and scores. He has a last five (L5) average game rating of 66, making him the most in-form goalkeeper in MLS and will be a reliable presence between the sticks.

DC United have a tricky game in GW 369 away to FC Cincinnati – joint top on 21 points – but that will mean he will be a busy man in goal and a strong contender to score big.

Defender

Alex Roldan

Seattle Sounders have an eye-catching fixture against Sporting Kansas City, with top vs bottom in the Western Conference, offering the attacking full-backs for Seattle a good chance for attacking returns. Alex Roldan is the one we have picked out, and he has already been in good form in recent weeks with an L5 of 59 and two assists to his name so far this season. Normally lining up at right-back but capable of playing in midfield as well, Roldan ranks well for passes attempted and attacking output among all full-backs as per fbref. He would be a reliable choice, especially considering the Sounders have one of the best defensive records in MLS so far.

Midfielder

Cristian Espinoza

Playing on the right wing while being classed as a midfielder is a big tick in his favour, as is an L5 score of 70 (and an L15 of 63) and while his goal returns do not actually rank favourably against his peers, he is up there with the most prolific in terms of assists per 90 minutes – ranking in the top 98% of all wingers according to fbref. His creativity and ability to make the right decisions makes him a huge asset to any side.

Forward

Jordan Morris

Morris is the top-scorer in MLS so far this season with eight goals in 10 games, so with a favourable game again for Seattle Sounders against Sporting KC, he will fancy getting his name on the scoresheet once more. Disappointing performances against Real Salt Lake and Minnesota have seen his L5 score drop to just 43, but he remains a good pick thanks to his performances earlier in the season.

While he might not be the most creative player in the side, Morris ranks highly on fbref for touches in the opposing penalty area and aerial duals won, so even when not playing at his best he is sure to make his presence known to the opposition defence and with him being so in-form in front of goal, he will fancy bouncing back to form.
