Table-topping Real Madrid will be hopeful of carrying forth a fine start to the La Liga campaign when they welcome Real Sociedad to the Santiago Bernabeu this Sunday night.

The efforts of Carlo Ancelotti’s troops to wrestle back Spanish football supremacy from arch rivals Barcelona have proven hugely productive to date, to the tune of 12 points from an available 12.

Upcoming opponents Sociedad, on the other hand, have managed just a solitary victory, last time out, at the expense of Granda. And yet, they are unlikely to prove pushovers, having not fallen to a single defeat in four, either.

A hotly-contested affair lies in wait, with hosts Real, for obvious reasons, looking the favourites for victory.

The matchup will be part of Gameweek 407 on Sorare Football, and 101 Great Goals has broken down the key statistical takeaways ahead of the game.

Real Madrid vs Real Sociedad Sorare tips

Real Madrid

Jude Bellingham

The headline-grabber in not only Madrid, but across the whole of Spanish football over the early weeks of the term, Jude Bellingham has gone about putting any remaining doubts surrounding his talents firmly to bed in the famed white of Real. Boasting a new-found ruthless streak in front of goal, the England international has incredibly found the net in each of his first four appearances in Spain, establishing himself as match-winner in all but one. And such exploits have been aptly reflected in Bellingham’s eye-watering Sorare hauls of 100, 100, 79, and 72.

Aurelien Tchouameni

Another member of the frankly frightening up-and-coming core of midfield talent under the watch of Carlo Ancelotti at present, Aurelien Tchouameni who has reestablished himself as an undisputed starter in Real’s engine room ranks, having featured from the off in all of Los Merengues’ first four outings of the term. His under-appreciated technical quality was on full display during the international break, too, when Tchouameni provided a reminder of his ability in and around the penalty area, courtesy of a stunning strike for France against the Republic of Ireland. A safe and steady pick.

Joselu

Perhaps more of a gamble when it comes to points pullers, Joselu has put an underwhelming first couple of weeks of the season firmly behind him over the fortnight since. After managing a result-clinching assist off the bench against Celta Vigo, the 33-year-old followed up with a goal on his first start of the season last time out, at the expense of Getafe. Another goal and assist followed for Spain this past Tuesday, with Vinicius Jr’s injury absence likely to see Joselu afforded a consistent run of starts over the weeks to come.

Real Sociedad

Kubo

Sociedad’s star performer across the campaign to date, Takefusa Kubo will be out to prove himself when he takes on former employers Real Madrid this weekend. The Japanese international has gone from strength to strength since finally sealing a permanent exit from the Bernabeu last summer, with four direct goal contributions in four appearances thus far this season clear-cut evidence of as much. With both Eder Militao and Thibaut Courtois absent from the defensive ranks of Sunday’s hosts, look for Kubo to make use of his electric pace and quick feet to the detriment of his one-time club.

Ander Barrenetxea

Another young talent quickly making a name for himself at Anoeta, Barrenetxea will be hopeful of adding to his haul of two goals in four appearances this weekend. The 21-year-old has seen his minutes fluctuate over the early weeks of the season, but looks a lock to start in Madrid, fresh off playing a central role in Sociedad racking up five goals against Granada last time out. A less flashy, but solid Sorare get this week.

Brais Mendez

Following a somewhat hit-and-miss first few weeks, Brais Mendez finally burst into form a fortnight ago, en route to Sociedad’s aforementioned drubbing of Granada. A haul of two assists was reflected by way of a Sorare score of 82, with the 26-year-old’s assured place in Imanol Alguacil’s XI making him a somewhat underrated choice. A tough test awaits in getting the better of Real Madrid’s star-studded midfield, but Mendez’s abilities from set-piece situations mean he represents a constant threat.
