Spezia and Salernitana will be aiming to get back into the win column when they clash in Serie A this weekend in a huge game for either sides’ chances of ending up in the top half of the table before the World Cup with Salernitana sitting 12th as Spezia are just four points above the drop zone.
There is just one point between either side heading into this game here, but with Salerntiana three places above the away side here, it’s become a vital game for Spezia. What’s more, they managed to beat Brescia with relative ease in a 3-1 Coppa Italia fixture on Wednesday, so there is some form lurking within the topsy-turvy nature of the club right now.
Nevertheless, the 15th-placed side lost to Monza just two weeks ago, before drawing with Cremonese in what was a chance to rocket themselves far away from the relegation zone within the space of 14 days. Combine this with the terrible 4-0 loss to Lazio at the start of the month and it means Spezia are now on a three-game winless run inside Serie A.
As for Salernitana, they have started this season incredibly better than the season prior in what was their Serie A return. The club have still lost four times and drawn four others, winning only two games in the league so far. They have also managed to let in 16 goals so far, and scored just 12 of their own.
It’s a game that could go either way given the form of either side, but Salernitana will be hopeful in getting the job done over a Spezia side in terrible form in Serie A.
