The champions are looking to get back in the win column after a struggle in the early stages of 2023 that has seen them exit the Coppa Italia and fall into third in Serie A as AC Milan head to the Stadio Ettore Giardiniero to meet with Lecce.

While it has been a topsy-turvy start to the year for Milan, Lecce have been enjoying their route up into 11th. The club came from behind at home to beat fifth-placed Lazio in their comeback game in Serie A, before drawing 0-0 with Spezia. It now leaves them in 11th and a very healthy 10 points above the relegation zone.

On the other hand, Lecce have still only managed to win four games in the league and score just 16 times. They are also still four points adrift of the top half of the table.

Milan lost at the San Siro to Torino in a midweek Coppa Italia battle. Worse yet, the Turin side went down to 10 men in the second half and Milan still failed to score and conceded in the 114th minute of the game.

Back in Serie A, they are now behind Juventus because of an inferior goals difference after the champions drew with Roma because a 94th-minute equaliser from Tammy Abraham.
