Inter Milan will be in search of registering their fifth unbeaten game in the season for the first time in 2022/23 when they head to Florence to meet with a Fiorentina side down in 13th and without a victory in the league since before the international break.
Inter have managed to turn a corner in recent weeks, having defeated Barcelona in the Champions League, before registering a draw with the La Liga giants at the Nou Camp. They then went on to defeat Sassuolo 2-1, before beating Salernitana 2-0 as well.
Nevertheless, they still sit seventh in Serie A just two season after conquering the division. Inter have only won six games so far from the 10 outings in Italy’s top flight, meaning they have lost four times and conceded 14 goals. It means it’s their worst start to a season for several years, and they already sit eight points behind the league leaders Napoli and even five adrift of their city rivals and champions, AC Milan.
Fiorentina are winless in Serie A since mid-September, however, having lost to Atalanta and Lazio without scoring a goal and letting in five, while also drawing with Lecce away from home. They did manage to ease past Hearts twice over in the Europa Conference league, though, beating them in Scotland 3-0, before hammering the club 5-1 back in Florence.
Inter should fancy themselves to keep up their unbeaten run here, and anything but all three points will force even more questions the way of Simeone Inzaghi.
