St Johnstone vs Dundee match preview

Having commendably picked up their first point of the season last Saturday, can St Johnstone now claim their maiden victory of the campaign?

A week ago, the Saints held champions Celtic to a goalless draw at Parkhead, with goalkeeper Dimitar Mitov, who’s just been called up by Bulgaria for the first time, named man of the match, making five saves.

Before this, Steven MacLean’s had made a nightmare start to the campaign, beaten by Stenhousemuir, Ayr and Stirling Albion in the League Cup, before back-to-back Premiership defeats against Hearts and Ross County.

It was all doom and gloom in Perth prior to that draw in Glasgow’s East End, although this’ll all return, and more, if St Johnstone are beaten here.

Dundee meantime claimed their first three points of the campaign last Sunday, with Luke McCowan’s sumptuous lob downing Hearts 1-0 at Dens Park.

Dark Blues’ manager Tony Docherty spent four season as Saints’ assistant manager, so will he return to McDiarmid Park and haunt his former employers?
