Livingston vs Hibernian betting tips: Scottish Premiership preview, predictions and odds

[RECOMMENDED_BETS]

Livingston have won their last two matches against Hibernian, despite only winning four of their previous 26 encounters. Hibs have only won one of their last four visits to the Tony Macaroni Arena, losing 1-0 there back in December.

Under 2.5 goals is 8/15.

Draw and under 2.5 goals is 13/5.

Bruce Anderson is 11/2 to break the deadlock and 21/10 to score anytime.

Match preview

It’s seventh vs eighth as two clubs with very little to play for meet in Almondvale.

In 2021, Hibs finished third and reached two cup finals, losing at Hampden to St Johnstone in May and then Celtic last December.

David Gray, for the second time this season, is in interim charge, and led his side to a 1-0 victory in Paisley.

Ewan Henderson’s strike just 15 minutes from time enough to beat St Mirren at the Simple Digital Arena.

So, Hibernian sit seventh in the table, they’ll finish no higher due to the Premiership’s split, aiming to end as the best of the bottom half.

Livingston though are only below the visitors on goal difference after an impressive victory on the road of their own last weekend.

Nicky Devlin opened the scoring before Jason Holt smashed home a penalty as the Lions beat Aberdeen 2-1 at Pittodrie.

Before this, David Martindale’s men were winless in four, form that had cost them a top six spot.

These two are likely to be fighting it out for seventh, so who will take a big step towards that position at the Tony Macaroni Arena?

Livingston team news

Goalkeeper Max Stryjek has been retrospectively banned for two games following last weekend’s win at Aberdeen.

So, Ivan Konovalov will deputise for the suspended Pole in goal.

At the other end of the park, Bruce Anderson is back and could feature for the first time in four weeks after an ankle injury.

He’s already scored 13 goals this season, 11 in the league, meaning he’s just two behind Regan Charles-Cook in the race for the Premiership’s golden boot.

Hibernian team news

Ryan Porteous will serve the final of his four-match ban, meaning he can return next Saturday against Aberdeen, the side he was sent off against.

With fellow centre-back Rocky Bushiri injured, Paul Hanlon will be joined by Paul McGinn and Lewis Stevenson at the back again.

In attack, Elias Hoff Melkersen is still searching for his first Premiership goals; both his goals for the club came in a Scottish Cup win at Motherwell.

Christian Doidge is a doubt for this one and Kevin Nisbet is out long-term.
