Last Sunday, the Tangerines were beaten by Heart of Midlothian in a five-goal thriller.
Dylan Levitt scored a stunning solo goal to open the scoring, before Ryan Edwards restored parity from range, but it was the Jambos who left with all three points.
Nevertheless, this is just the second time in 11 league games that Tam Courts’ side have suffered defeat.
A day earlier, Motherwell were beaten 3-1 by ten-man Rangers at Fir Park, despite Ross Tierney’s equaliser on the stroke of half time.
So, Graham Alexander’s side have only won one of 14 matches in 2022, still somehow managing to smuggle into the top half.
Thus, Dundee United remain fourth with Motherwell one point below in sixth.
The fourth and fifth placed finished enter Europa Conference League qualifying with sixth missing out.

Striker Tony Watt is fit though and he’ll face the club he left in January.

Without Watt, Motherwell have, somewhat, struggled for goals.
Joseph Efford and Connor Shields led the line last weekend but Kaiyne Woolery and Jordan Roberts are also decent options.
