Two sides in high-spirits meet at Anfield.

On Wednesday night, Liverpool welcomed A.C. Milan to Anfield in the Champions League, evoking all the memories of İstanbul 2005.

But, this time, it was Liverpool who raced out of the blocks, taking the lead after just eight minutes through Trent Alexander-Arnold’s deflected cross-come-shot.

They were then presented with a golden opportunity shortly after to double their lead but Mo Salah’s penalty was saved.

Milan then made them pay because I Rossoneri scored not once but twice on the stroke of half time to lead at the interval.

Nevertheless, the Reds were not to be denied because a clever finish from Salah and a Jordan Henderson thunderbolt secured the 3-2 win.

With Atlético de Madrid and FC Porto also in Group B, that was a crucial matchday one victory.

Now, attention turns back to the Premier League.

Jürgen Klopp’s side are one of three front-runners in the league with ten points from four games after beating Leeds United 3-0 last Sunday.

Salah, Fabinho and Sadio Mané all on target at Elland Road in a game overshadowed by Harvey Elliott’s horrible injury.

Now though, will Liverpool win again?

Crystal Palace meanwhile are up and running under Patrick Vieira, doing so in some style.

A week ago, the Eagles ended up smashing ten-man Tottenham 3-0 at Selhurst Park with all three goals coming in the final 15 minutes.

Wilfried Zaha cooly slotting home a penalty before Odsonne Édouard came off the bench to score twice on his debut.

The first came just 24 seconds after he’d come on, the fastest goal by a Premier League debutant ever.

That was Vieira’s first win as Palace manager but it lifts them up to 11th.

Can he now pull off a huge upset at Anfield?

Prediction: Liverpool 2-1 Crystal Palace

Sadio Mané has scored in eight consecutive appearances against Crystal Palace, thus can become the first player to score against the same opponents in nine successive matches in Premier League

These two have met 16 times in the Premier League since Palace were promoted back to the top-flight in 2013.

Liverpool win just four of the first eight meetings but have since won eight-in-a-row, scoring 24 and conceding five.
