It’s one of the biggest games of the season now for Chelsea and Liverpool at Anfield when the two meet on Saturday afternoon to kick off a monumental week in the Premier League with just goals difference keeping the two apart.

Heading into the battle on Merseyside, it is Liverpool who are narrowly ahead of Chelsea on goals difference. The Blues have let in fewer goals with only 21, but with the Reds scoring 34 times, they are in ninth.

Regardless of the current standing for the two in the Premier League, Champions League football looks a lost hope for either team now. With 28 points each, they sit 10 points below Newcastle United in fourth.

The two have been two of the most out-of-form sides in the top 10 over the past few games, as Liverpool were hammered 3-0 by Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend to make it just two league wins since the Premier League resumed.

Graham Potter’s side, however, returned to the win column after four games without a victory and three losses in a row during this run. Kai Havertz was the difference once again, as he scored in the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.
