Match preview

Crystal Palace may be sitting in midtable, but Patrick Vieira's Eagles are certainly proving a very capable outfit this season that can go toe-to-toe with bigger outfits across the current 2021-22 Premier League campaign.

Having lost just once in their last six league fixtures, Selhurst Park could be rocking when they welcome Manchester City tomorrow as a win would see them climb as high as ninth in the table if things go their way.

An in-form Wilfried Zaha could be a real difference-maker against City as the Ivorian star remains a key outlet, but performances from Conor Gallagher in midfield could throw a monkey wrench in City's away day especially on the back of Palace hitting seven goals in their last three in the league.

But Man City run the rule over Palace of late in recent clashes (4-1-1) and with Pep Guardiola's men having to fight tooth and nail to keep the points balance in their favor with Liverpool breathing down their neck, Pep's men could come out of the blocks firing especially with Palace losing three of their last four at Selhurst.

The Premier League leaders have dropped points in just three of their fourteen away fixtures this season, and with Guardiola having the full range of his attacking options at his disposal tomorrow, three points will be the only acceptable outcome on the day after Liverpool dispatched Brighton on Saturday.

Crystal Palace team news

Patrick Vieira has few overall concerns as Crystal Palace welcome table-topping Manchester City to Selhurst Park, and could well name the exact matchday XI that ran out 2-0 winners against Wolves in their last Premier League fixture.

The Eagles will be without James McArthur and Nathan Ferguson through injury and will also have to give a late assessment to Joel Ward. Should he be unable to return to the XI, Nathaniel Clyne will deputize in his stead once more.

Manchester City team news

Much like his opposite number, Pep Guardiola could keep faith in the same Man City team that ran riot against rivals Manchester United last weekend, which would mean Raheem Sterling will once again have to be content with a place on the substitutes bench.

City remains without Rúben Dias (injury), and Benjamin Mendy (legal) but should recover both Nathan Aké and João Cancelo despite the pair facing late fitness tests. Cancelo should feature from the off if he passes fit.
