Xavi vents anger at Barcelona’s loss to Bayern

Xavi Hernandez has vented his anger following FC Barcelona’s recent loss.

Barcelona faced off with Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening in a Champions League clash.

Barcelona headed into the game on the back of a 5-1 win in their first group outing of 2022/23.

Bayern, though, are a top side and even without the services of Robert Lewandowski – who now plays for Barca – were expected to prove a tough test for Xavi and co.

Barcelona began the match fairly well, with Bayern sitting back and looking to counter for much of the first 45.

In the second half, however, Bayern Munich came out swinging and were 2-0 up after 54 minutes thanks to goals from Lucas Hernandez and Leroy Sane, and that is how the tie finished.

Barcelona’s clash with Inter Milan in a few weeks is now a must-win tie for La Blaugrana as, if they lose, there is a strong chance they will be playing in the Europa League again next year.

“I’m p*ssed off. I’m p*ssed off. I don’t like to lose – and we didn’t deserve it,” claimed Xavi. “I think we were better, we dominated them. We were better. But this is the Champions League.

“The process was good, but the result was bad. It was a golden opportunity to win at this stadium, and we leave with a defeat. I’m p*ssed off.”
