Why Leandro Trossard missed Arsenal training ahead of Everton

Leandro Trossard missed training for Arsenal on Tuesday.

Arsenal return to action on Saturday afternoon when they face a trip to Goodison Park.

The clash will be Sean Dyche’s first game in charge as he looks to revive Everton’s season and get them out of the relegation zone.

As for Arsenal, they are looking to continue their title charge and can, temporarily at least, once again move eight points clear of 2nd-place Manchester City, who the Gunners have a game in hand on.

Mikel Arteta’s side have amassed 50 points in the first half of their season, meaning they are currently on course to match Man City’s record-breaking 2017/18 campaign, which saw them amass a staggering 100 points.

Ahead of the game, an Arsenal team news update has been provided on Tuesday evening.

Leandro Trossard signed for the Gunners from Brighton recently and made his debut in a 3-2 win over Manchester United in the Premier League.

But the Belgian then missed training ahead of facing Everton. The reason for this has since been provided, with it reported that Trossard’s partner is expecting a child.

No further detail is given, but it looks as though there is a chance the winger will avoid an away trip up north this weekend.
