Watford & Fluminense: Joao Pedro transfer ‘approved’

Watford & Fluminense’s Joao Pedro

Watford fans have a new player to check out on YouTube this week.

According to Brazilian news outlet Globo Esporte, Watford are on the verge of completing a deal to sign Fluminense’s Joao Pedro.

Joao Pedro is just 17-years-old. However Globo Esporte claim that the English FA have now approved the proposed deal for the Brazilian forward.

How much will Watford pay Fluminense? That’s unclear, although one suspects Watford will pay a significant fee for the teenager.

When will Joao Pedro join Watford?

Watford fans may have to be patient regarding Joao Pedro.

After the FA signalled the deal can proceed, the next step is for Joao Pedro to have a medical. Rather than travelling to Watford for that check-up, Joao Pedro is expected to have his medical in Rio de Janeiro shortly.

After that the final details of the deal are set to be closed between the clubs.

Globo Esporte also speculate that Joao Pedro may only leave Fluminense to join Watford in 2020.

Watford signed Richarlison from Fluminense

Of course, this isn’t the first time Watford and Fluminense have done business.

At the beginning of the 2017-18 season, Fluminense sold Richarlison to Watford.

Watford spent around  £11.5 million on Richarlison, while they’ve since sold the Brazilian to Everton for around 50 million pounds.
