Mohamed Salah has joined Trabzonspor on a two-year deal following his departure from Liverpool.
The Turkish club confirmed the signing on Thursday after Salah arrived in Trabzon a day earlier to complete the move. He will be officially unveiled at Papara Park later on Thursday evening.
Trabzonspor finished third in the Turkish Super Lig last season, seven points behind champions Galatasaray, to secure Europa League qualification.
They also lifted the Turkish Cup and will hope Salah’s arrival can strengthen their bid to challenge for a first league title since the 2021-22 campaign.
Salah, 34, ended his Liverpool contract a year early at the end of last season and was mobbed when he wore the Super Lig side’s shirt after landing in Istanbul on Wednesday.

Writing on social media in July, Salah’s lawyer and advisor, Ramy Abbas Issa, explained that his client had avoided holding talks “just for the sake of noise”.
Salah left Liverpool after nine years and helped his country make history with their first-ever win at a World Cup before being dramatically ousted by holders Argentina in a last-16 classic at the 2026 edition.
Some bookmakers had offered Besiktas as favourites to sign Salah last month, followed by any other Turkish club.
Saudi clubs had also been considered in the running, with European sides deemed dark horses to lure the former Chelsea, Roma, Basel and Al-Mokawloon player.

Salah top-scored in the Premier League as the Reds won the title in 2024/25 in their first season under Arne Slot.
That was the fourth time Salah had been the leading marksman in the English top flight, although he struggled last season and made his dissatisfaction with the doomed Slot clear during Liverpool’s troubled title defence.
A forgettable end to his career at Anfield has done little to diminish Salah’s status as one of the greatest players of all time.
As well as the 2018/19 Champions League, Salah won every major domestic trophy at least once with Liverpool and is their all-time leading contributor of goals and assists in the Premier League.

Two-time African Footballer of the Year Salah signed a deal in July 2022 making him the highest-paid player in Liverpool’s history.
Abbas Issa told a Harvard Business School study in 2023 that Salah earned at least £1 million a week in total income, boosted by factors such as his lucrative endorsements.
Following months of speculation, Salah signed a new deal until 2027 with Liverpool in April 2025.
When will Mohamed Salah play for Trabzonspor?
Trabzonspor visit Kasimpasa, who finished three points above the relegation zone in last season’s Super Lig, in their 2026/27 opener on August 15 (17:00 BST).
The Black Sea Storm came third in 2025/26, five points behind Fenerbahce and eight shy of Galatasaray.
They will be at home in the first leg of the Europa League play-offs on August 20, with their opponents yet to be decided.
