Update provided as Manchester United look to shift dead weight this summer

Alex Telles could officially seal a move to Al-Nassr by the end of the week while interest in Ivorian international defender Eric Bailly continues to grow as both Fulham and Al-Ettifaq are prepared to battle Al-Nassr or his services.

Premier League giants Manchester United continue to move this summer in a bid to trim the fat surrounding the senior squad under Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford as the club edge closer to moving on from two additional outliers in Alex Telles and Eric Bailly.

As previously reported by football insider Fabrizio Romano, Brazillian full-back Alex Telles could officially seal a move to Roshn Saudi League juggernaut Al-Nassr by the end of the week after reaching a verbal agreement with the club on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old Esporte Clube Juventude academy graduate had endured a less-than-stellar two-year stint with the Red Devils since his arrival from FC Porto during the 2020 summer transfer window before going on loan to La Liga outfit FC Sevilla in the 2022-23 campaign.

But Al-Nassr could also return to the negotiating table due to their interest in Ivorian international center-back Eric Bailly, with Romano suggesting discussions between the two clubs are close to kicking off.

United could look to play their transfer hand appropriately surrounding the former RCD Espanyol and Villarreal man, with interest from Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq as well as fellow Premier League outfit Fulham credited by Romano.

Bailly, who spent last season on loan with French giants Olympique de Marseille, had long dealt with a plague of injuries during his six years with the Red Devils while also failing to find the requisite level of consistency in his performances under multiple managers.
