Tottenham Hotspur and Blackburn Rovers have been in talks over a deal for Ashley Phillips.
Spurs have been trying to sign the very talented 18-year-old defender with the Championship club in desperate need of the cash.
The deal looked to be close, however, a last-minute complication has left the deal close to collapse and here’s why...
Phillips deal in trouble

Tottenham’s move for Ashley Phillips is in trouble, according to Alan Nixon.
Phillips has already undergone a medical, however, Spurs have NOT met Blackburn Rovers’ valuation.
Rovers are asking for £5 million + add-ons, there also may be a row over the existing clause and the wording of it.
The north London club were reportedly expected to pay £3 million for the defender but that no longer seems to be the case.
