A quartet of top European clubs have been linked with Real Madrid defender, Ferland Mendy.

Mendy has previously been tipped for a move to the Premier League, with Fichajes having claimed that both Manchester United and Chelsea were interested in the French defender.

And now, Spanish outlet Defensa Central suggest that PSG and Juventus have entered the race to sign Mendy.

It is added that Real Madrid would be open to selling the defender this summer, with Antonio Rudiger set to slot in at centre-back, moving David Alaba to left-back.

The 27-year-old is currently under contract at the Bernabeu until 2025. He joined Real in 2019 from Lyon and has since made 105 appearances for the club, scoring five and assisting nine in the process.

Should Mendy sign for United, he would be the second Real defender to join the Red Devils in the space of a year, after Raphael Varane swapped the Spanish capital for Manchester last summer.

However, though United have been named as an option, it does seem somewhat unlikely that he will make the switch to Old Trafford this summer, as Erik ten Hag's side have already signed a left-back.

The Red Devils announced Tyrell Malacia as their first signing of the 2022 summer transfer window earlier this week:

Malacia has signed a four-year deal until 2026, and is believed to have set United back €15m plus €2m in add-ons.
